FillPro - FAQ

Frequently asked questions and simple answers

Attention: As some users are trying to use the wrong account please follow this advice: don’t use a simple google mail account, instead use a google docs account you can create at http://docs.google.com and activate the account! Even an already existing google mail account is not sufficient, you can do an upload but you will get error messages when downloading content.

01. Can I import data from Tankbuch?
Yes, you can! You can read a detailed description here: FillPro Import

02. How can I import data from Tankbuch?
For the import of Tankbuch-Data you can read a detailed description here: FillPro Import

03. I can’t find that Tankbuch-File!
If you’re in the google docs section of fillpro, you can find a „Tankbuch“ button at the upper right.

04. What price do I have to enter for the fillup?
Starting with version 1.23 (available since 2009/14/01) you have the choice using the following preference switch : Extra -> Input -> Full price paid.

05. What’s the meaning of the blue and green bars at fillup overview?
The blue bar is showing the fillup in relation to the car’s capacity. The green bar is full if you set the switch for „Full fillup?“, if not it’s height is between full and and the blue bar to show a partial fillup.

06. The total car cost is much to high!
Usually this comes from entering the full amount for fillups instead of price per gallon, also faq-04.

07. What is trip odometer for?
Some users are using the trip odometer as counter for distance since last fillup. If you activate that switch, you just have to enter the distance since last fillup.

08. I’m driving a BiFuel car, how do I enter data?
FillPro supports BiFuel-cars. When you drive two sorts of fuel, you can’t work directly with your odometer readings. The idea behind FillPro is to switch trip odometer (look at 07) and enter the distance driven with the kind of fuel you are refilling.

09. My fuel isn’t listed?
No problem, the list of fuels is editable. If a fuel isn’t already used for fillups within the database you can change it. Step into a car detail and select
Manage fuel types -> Chevron (the little arrow located on the right). You can now change the name and select how that fuel is measured.
With Manage fuel types -> Edit -> New fuel you can create a new kind of fuel.

10. The consumption isn’t displayed?
A reasonable consumption can only be calculated at full fillups. If you have done a full fillup select „Full fillup?“ when entering the fillup. If you’re not doing a full fillup the consumptions will not be calculated. The distance and gallons will be taken into account at the next full fillup.

11. The mileage is much too high at cost statistics!
FillPro takes the minimum and maximum odometer from fillups and costs. If you see a driven mileage higher than you expect, check if you have an incorrect entry at fillups or costs. (Usually from playing around there is a 0 entry at costs :-) )

12. I want to see consumption in km / l!
This is possible starting with version 1.15.

13. I hate those number pickers for entering odometer readings!
This is configurable since version 1.15.

14. Delete without asking! Isn’t that dangerous?
This is configurable since version 1.15.

15. Why don’t you just put csv-data into an email?
The programming interface of the iPhone does not allow creation of emails with attachments from 3rd party applications.

16. I’m using several fuels with one tank, how can I compare the consumption?
That isn’t that easy to manage. Developing FillPro we had BiFuel in mind, there you have a tank for every fuel type. You could do it manually with 2 fillup entries when changing fuel type. It’s better if the application does it automatically: ok, we need room for some surprises next year!

17. I’m using swiss region settings, all prices are rounded.
The iPhone’s system functions for swiss currency output do rouding to 0.05 even when you ask for 3 fraction digits.
Starting with next version there will be no more rounding.

18. The price history isn’t showing anymore!
If you made the update to version 1.23 and you don't see any graph for price history, you probably have a 0 fillup in your data. Beginning with next update these entries will be ignored.
